Salinger s'était fait connaître avec "L'Attrape-coeurs" ("The Catcher in the Rye"), publié en 1951. Il commence � se faire connaître en 1948 avec des nouvelles parues dans le New Yorker, mais il est surtout célèbre pour son roman L'Attrape-cœurs (titre original : The Catcher in the Rye). Salinger a voulu lui donner le premier rôle dans son œuvre majeure, L'Attrape-Cœur (Catcher in the Rye en version anglaise), sorti en 1951. I think it is the very essence of Charleston and the flapper lifestyle. The phrase Attrape Coeurs means "heart-catcher" and it is lovely in its connotations, although it can have its adversaries too. In "Perfumes, the Guide"~ let me mention in passing that a special Bacarrat edition of L de Lolita Lempicka in extrait de parfum with golden netting and blue topaz is also nicknamed L'Attrape Coeur and that L'Attrape-cœurs is the French title under which the novel by J. Salinger more widely known as Catcher in the Rye circulates under. Salinger's book "The catcher in the rye", (translate to french L'Attrape Coeurs), it was called by Luca Turin "an essay on amber".
